Kawans,
Saya terus ngikutin perkembangan Storm botnet dari belasan sumber,
diantaranya Slashdot.
Menarik sekali untuk disimak karena sesuatu yg amat powerful hampir
pasti ada dibelakang Storm Botnet tsb.
Storm Botnet?
1. Polymorphic: terus berubah-ubah bentuk, bikin anti virus mandul &
jaringan Interpol pemburu botnet kelimpungan.
2. Nyebar lewat youtube, blogger dan sekarang pakai Tor yg sudah
dimodifikasi.
3. Nyerang komputer dengan Q4Rollup exploit yang punya 12 exploit
ter-enkripsi!
4. Menguasai 4-5 juta komputer (kemungkinan berkembang hingga 10-50 juta)
5. Lebih powerful dari super komputer paling hebat di dunia!
6. Akankah Google atau Akamai roboh kalau di DDoS Storm?
7. Saya ngak pernah ngitung. Tapi dgn processing power seRAKSASA itu,
jangan-jangan ngebongkar enkripsi AES-256 atau RSA-2048 tinggal hitungan
jam atau hari.
8. Dengan jutaan titik untuk melakukan sniffing diseluruh dunia,
informasi apa yg tidak tercium?
9. Apa mungkin kemampuan NSA + FBI + CIA untuk urusan bongkar-membongkar
protected information & eavesdropping sudah tertandingi?

computers in the botnet sending out spam on any given day, and he adds
that he estimates the botnet generally is operating at about 10 percent
of capacity. 'We've seen spikes where the owner is experimenting with
something and those spikes are usually five to 10 times what we normally
see,' he said, noting he suspects the botnet could be as large as 50
million computers. 'That means they can turn on the taps whenever they
want to.'"

Scamwarners, Artists Against 419, and possibly others have become the
target of the Storm botnet. CastleCops and other anti-spam forums are
being DDoSed as well. Sounds like a massive, concerted effort against
the folks who are fighting the good fight."
